The project Nice Rain takes the city of Berlin as a pretext for exploring the notion of urban sound document from the perspective of a diversity of recording practices and intentions. Confronted with the difficulties to discover new strong narratives by simply listening to the Berlin public space, I've decided to explore instead the narratives embedded within already existing audio documents related to the city. As an alternative to a classic city soundscape like some of my previous works, I will present a collection of Berlin audio recordings from the personal archive of various practitioners who I know personally, some living in Berlin and some elsewhere.
While all of the recordings will be referring to Berlin as their location, each one will represent a specific recording practice corresponding to an intention more or less defined by its author...

According to Nelson Goodman’s thesis, the aim and purpose of art and science is the same: cognizance, i.e. insight as the (selecting, sorting, construing) organization of knowledge. This presentation treats the subject „time and space“ from the perspective of three artists from France, Portugal and Japan. These artists are living in Berlin and working both in Berlin and in other cities. They will present a wide range of work from their individual work to collective art projects. At the same time, this presentation is an open dialog with spectators, conducted from the point of view of „art and social relations“. Thus it factors in personal cognition and expression about the diverse ideas of work such as prefiguration. Also we will be introducing their networking and collective works as well as the artists archive and art professionals network berlinerpool, the architecture office Raumlabor Berlin and the French architecture collective EXYZT and others.

THIS IS THE END is a research project by Marta Ferretti and Gaia Martino, invited as curators in residency at the Errant Bodies project space. This research investigates the relationship between narration and public space in the specific context of Berlin, in collaboration with artists that propose different points of view on the possibility to imagine a narrative topography of the city.
Between May 8th and May 12th the Errant Bodies project space, research studio during the residency period, will be open to the public with interventions by Gilles Aubry, El Cocuy, Iris Touliatou and Jacopo Gallico with Marco Giani and Fabio Campagna. In parallel, it will present the curators' specific research about the neighbourhood Prenzlauer Berg, developed during the residency period: in this context the project O.S.T. takes place, it welcomes the kind collaboration of several Berlin based musicians for the composition of site specific soundtracks.

We intend narrative topography as a constantly work in progress, a tool useful to explore urban spaces for their specific stratification of imaginaries, stories and local dynamics, through a personal engagement and a lived experience of places. Narrative topography is a method for site specific practice, rather than a concluded map.

Sérgio Cruz’s second solo exhibition at ACI features video art created during a residency in Nodar |Portugal. The exhibition, curated by Julia Draganović and Claudia Löffelholz, offers a path through the works of Susanne Bosch (Wesel, 1967) who defines herself as an artist who “works predominantly with and in public”, Pablo Helguera (Mexico City, 1971), a polyhedral artist who expresses himself with a wide range of media, and who is also an educator and Icaro Zorbar (Bogotá, 1977), an animator of “assisted installations”.
On the opening evening – on the 28th of February, 6.00 – 9.00 p.m., the exhibition will be combined with a series of performances by Pablo Helguera and Icaro Zorbar, relating to the art works on display, which show the different approaches of the two artists to the audience.

The installation Fortytwo is about the goal to run the Berlin Marathon (42 Kilometers) in September. Currently I am 42 years old. I connect the obsession of running with my obsession to do art, especially my obsession of doing pencil drawings. There are similarities between drawing and running: the slow pace, the steady rhythm line by line, step by step. Sometime You get to the flow and forget that You run or draw. But sometimes it is just pain.
At some point it is as absurd to run 42 kilometers as it is to make pencil drawings in a scale of two by three meters.

The installation Fortytwo is about the goal to run the Berlin Marathon (42 Kilometers) in September. Currently I am 42 years old. I connect the obsession of running with my obsession to do art, especially my obsession of doing pencil drawings. There are similarities between drawing and running: the slow pace, the steady rhythm line by line, step by step. Sometime You get to the flow and forget that You run or draw. But sometimes it is just pain.
At some point it is as absurd to run 42 kilometers as it is to make pencil drawings in a scale of two by three meters.

This new work by Nancy Atakan investigates the extreme routes taken by contemporary individuals and societies to become attractive to others whether it be the opposite sex or foreign investors. Women and men undergo surgery to alter their physical appearance. Politicians promote urban transformation to attract global investment. Plastic surgeons add to and take away from human bodies like sculptors molding clay. Urban developers thoughtlessly demolish communities and ways of life for profit. Societies that place high value on beauty and youth continuously change, disguise and eliminate the ‘Old’ built structure or human body. Violence of this type can be physical or psychological. Atakan uses a variety of techniques including silkscreen, photography, digital prints and digital video to transform discarded objects found in the local flea market.
