So­cié­té Réa­lis­te is a Pa­ri­sian co­ope­ra­ti­ve crea­ted by Fe­renc
Gróf and Jean-Bap­tis­te Naudy in June 2004. They work in mul­ti­ple
forms with po­li­ti­cal de­sign, ex­pe­ri­men­tal eco­no­my,
ter­ri­to­ri­al er­go­no­my and so­ci­al en­gi­nee­ring con­sul­ting.
Their pro­jects can take the shape of ex­hi­bi­ti­ons, pu­bli­ca­ti­ons
or con­fe­ren­ces.

In re­la­ti­on to the BE­HA­VING DIF­FER­ENT­LY! lec­tu­re se­ries focus
on art eco­no­mies, they will pre­sent con­nec­tion points bet­ween
pro­jects dea­ling with the issue, such as Ca­bi­net So­cié­té
Réa­lis­te Con­seil, a le­gis­la­ti­ve con­sul­ting firm whose mis­si­on
is to help crea­te and sustain com­pe­ti­ti­ve le­gis­la­ti­on
(on­go­ing), the Art­leaks col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve plat­form for the labor
rights of cul­tu­ral workers (2011), the collec­tive cri­ti­cal
ex­hi­bi­ti­on Ar­tist Pen­si­on Trust (2011), or their Art Sche­me

Die Bilder von Thomas Prass sind ein erfrischendes Moment innerhalb der zeitgenössischen Malerei wie mir schon lange keines begegnet ist. Die Arbeiten sind herrlich unkonventionell und die Amerikaner würden es wohl mehrheitlich politically incorrect nennen. Aber gerade diese ehrliche, auf eigener Lebenserfahrung im „Land der unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten“, beruhende Interpretation der real – live Situation ist was diese Kunst so eigenartig macht. Thomas verwendet ureigene Symbolik amerikanischer Malerei, die er im Sinne einer aus News, Fotos und Szenen zusammengestellten Collage, mit Acryl auf der Leinwand wiedergibt.

Der Gedanke vom Blick auf eine Zeichnung, die bei jedem Betrachten neue Aspekte eröffnet, die einen Moment der Veränderung in sich trägt, begleitet diese Ausstellung und verbindet die Tätigkeiten der eingeladenen KünstlerInnen. Sie befragen das Medium Zeichnung nach seinen Möglichkeiten und Grenzen – ein Medium, das in allen Epochen der Kunstgeschichte aufscheint und für das immer neue Einsatzmöglichkeiten erdacht wurden.
Das Wissen über die formalen, prozessorientierten Herangehensweisen der konzeptuellen Zeichnung im Gepäck, wagen es die KünstlerInnen, einen bildhaften und narrativen Bezug zur „Welt“ einzugehen.

You're invited to follow the amazing global art initiative 'FRAGILE - global performance chain journey' in which more than 750 artists from 62 countries are participating.
Can one fragile object, in times of email, chat and mobility, pass one time all around the world safely – from hand to hand, charging itself with stories and people? Will it be the same when it returns?

For the project, more than 750 artists from all over the world work together in one same action: all will carry one fragile object step by step around the planet.
The journey of the object and the works the artists will conceive during the project will be communicated on the website and in regular newsletters.
