population exchange between Anatolia and the Balkans and it focuses on the
flexibility of the borders, cultural similarities, controversies, the lack
of communication between cultures, as well as various methods of developing
new communication models. In addition, the project aims at establishing a
new network between artists, curators, writers and institutions by making
the shared history in the selected places its most important guide.

In three twenty-minute one-on-one conversations, upper-division students, art school graduates, as well as freelance artists and photographers entered into a fascinating dialogue with curators, publishers, gallery owners, and art critics, received feedback and encouragement.
After the portfolios had been reviewed, the reviewers determined their favorites. Within the scope of the 4th Fotofestival, the first three favorites will now be presented in their own exhibition at the Print Media Academy in Heidelberg.

Ends 20.11.2011
Benedetta Panisson selected a man during one of her live performances.
She asked him to be herself in her next project. He accepted.
The name of the selected man is Guido Mangialavori. Or Benedetta Panisson?
The project is the result of 5 years of observation and study of the selected man. A calm embodiment, a sexual reassignment, an act of taking the self out of the way, taking everything out, putting everything else inside.
All data are archived, all the rest exploded.
The project "Rotation F to M" began in 2005 during a live performance ("rotation white") at the International Prize for Performance, curated by Marina Abramovic, Fabio Cavallucci and Galleria Civica di arte contemporanea di Trento.
Parts of the project were exhibited at Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, Venice, Museo della Permanente, Milano, and Galleria Riccardo Crespi, Milano, it will be presented in its completed version at Kolima, curated by Federica Tattoli and Mauro Mattei, Milano.

Turnaround // new works by Barbara Nicholls
Pavillon am Milchhof
Ateliergemeinschaft Milchhof e.V.
Schwedter Straße 232
10435 Berlin
Tel +49 30 50 59 23 38

Berlin
Ends 03.12.2011
We are pleased to present a group of new works by London-based artist Barbara Nicholls. The Exhibition was initiated by Doris Knöfel.
These six pieces represent a further development of Nicholls’ long-standing interest in territorial, archaeological and conceptual structures, and in the artwork as a physical and metaphorical generator of meaning. Having been produced through a process of cutting into, patching up, and again cutting through the dense material of the boards from which they are made, these hybrid works – part drawing and painting, part cut-out and assemblage – occupy that curious zone between the apparent flatness of painting and the overt three-dimensionality of sculpture. Their allusive relation to the latter is evident in the fact that in some of these pieces a large sinuous form has been removed from the plane of the surface and reinserted slightly out of true, or perhaps even been flipped right round, an action to which the exhibition’s title partly refers.

You're invited to follow the amazing global art initiative 'FRAGILE - global performance chain journey' in which more than 750 artists from 62 countries are participating.
Can one fragile object, in times of email, chat and mobility, pass one time all around the world safely – from hand to hand, charging itself with stories and people? Will it be the same when it returns?
For the project, more than 750 artists from all over the world work together in one same action: all will carry one fragile object step by step around the planet.
The journey of the object and the works the artists will conceive during the project will be communicated on the website and in regular newsletters.
