The Grimmuseum is teaming up with Tupajumi Foundation to organize the First International Tupajumi Art eXchange as an epilogue to the Gallery Weekend in Berlin. Goal of the event is the direct exchange of art works between collectors (or collecting artists) without any intermediate.
In this event selected collectors and artists can trade one piece of art for another of the same estimated value. ...No money involved!
There will be 50 participants, a mix of artists and collectors, invited by Grimmuseum or selected by Tupajumi after a sign up. The artworks can be made by or owned by and have an approximate value of 1.500 euro.

Bilder sind vieldeutig und lassen sich nicht auf eine ausschließliche Aussage festlegen. Deshalb will ich lediglich auf eine wesentliche Gemeinsamkeit der hier ausgestellten zwei Bildfolgen verweisen.
Beide Sequenzen entstanden während eines Aufenthalts in Schweden und vordergründig scheinen sie auch skandinavische Landschaften zu zeigen. Vergleicht man jedoch die einzelnen Bilder, fällt auf, dass das immer gleiche Motiv durchgespielt wird, was sich jeweils nur in Detail und Farberzählung unterscheidet. Nicht etwa Schilderungen realer Orte oder Reiseberichte als vielmehr Variationen eines Klischees werden visualisiert. Dabei zeigen sich Darstellungsweisen wie zeitliche Formulierungen der Reihen gegensätzlich: die Farbstiftzeichnungen sind verwischt, ein flüchtiger Augenblick nur, die Ölbilder dagegen sind reliefartig präsent und von Dauer. Alle Arbeiten jedoch haben gemein, dass sie in großen Teilen undeutlich sind, allenfalls Puzzleteile eines möglichen Bildes. MICHAEL ZEUCH

Anybody can fly – even if it’s just in their dreams. This spring, the Haus der Kulturen der Welt is devoting a big exhibition to one of humankind’s greatest desires: the dream of flying. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through time and space – from the Montgolfière to the oldest and most valuable Shaman’s cloak in Europe, from model jet planes to prehistoric spearheads – and seeks answers to the question of whether human technology has fulfilled all of humanity’s ancient dreams.

This exhibition assumes that our world is a place with unclear boundaries separating reality and the imaginary—where ultimately everything is possible; because everything that is imaginable is also viable. In their works the artists seek to transcend convention and those conceptual habits that limit and define the many ways we perceive reality. They are pilots and the spectators their passengers, traveling between reality and fiction within a hyperreal, interconnected world.

Zwanzig spektakuläre Röntgenbilder von Skulpturen verschiedener Materialien aus Museen in Deutschland und den USA sind ab 15. April 2011 in der neuen Sonderausstellung
"Zwillingsbilder. Röntgenfotografien von Skulpturen"
im Präparatesaal des Berliner Medizinhistorischen Museums der Charité zu sehen. Der Röntgenblick, hier zugleich diagnostisch, forensisch und ästhetisch, "verlebendigt" die Skulpturen und rückt sie in ein einzigartiges künstlerisch-medizinisches Spannungsfeld zu den Präparaten.
Die Sonderausstellung von Uta Kornmeier findet in Kooperation mit dem Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung Berlin statt. Als Teil der Serie von "Interventionen" in die Dauerausstellung des Museums ist sie bis 05. Juni 2011 zu sehen.
