This exhibition assumes that our world is a place with unclear boundaries separating reality and the imaginary—where ultimately everything is possible; because everything that is imaginable is also viable. In their works the artists seek to transcend convention and those conceptual habits that limit and define the many ways we perceive reality. They are pilots and the spectators their passengers, traveling between reality and fiction within a hyperreal, interconnected world.

Die japanische Malerin Misaki Kawabe zeigt im Pavillon am Milchhof gemalte und gefundene Bilder.
Während die Ausschnittsammlung aus illustrierten Büchern in ihrer lakonisch thematischen Zusammenstellung an Hans-Peter Feldmann erinnert, sind die peinlich genau gemalten Aquarelle eher einer früh-neuzeitlichen malerischen Tradition zuzuordnen, vielleicht in crossover mit einer Victoria's Secret-Werbekampagne.
Eine ähnliche Gegenüberstellung verwendete die Künstlerin bereits in Ihrem 2010 bei Revolver Publishing erschienenen Künstlerbuch "Nostalgic Hentai".
Inwieweit der Titel programmatisch, ggf. autobiografisch ist, bleibt offen.
Misaki Kawabe wurde in Tokyo geboren, studierte dort Malerei an der Joshibi University (B.A.) und setzte ihre Studien fort in Brooklyn, New York am Pratt Institute, (M.F.A.). Bisherige Einzelausttellungen: Gallery Kobo (Tokyo), Gallery Yamaguchi (Tokyo), ISE Cultural Foundation (NY), Caelum Gallery (NY).

Zwanzig spektakuläre Röntgenbilder von Skulpturen verschiedener Materialien aus Museen in Deutschland und den USA sind ab 15. April 2011 in der neuen Sonderausstellung
"Zwillingsbilder. Röntgenfotografien von Skulpturen"
im Präparatesaal des Berliner Medizinhistorischen Museums der Charité zu sehen. Der Röntgenblick, hier zugleich diagnostisch, forensisch und ästhetisch, "verlebendigt" die Skulpturen und rückt sie in ein einzigartiges künstlerisch-medizinisches Spannungsfeld zu den Präparaten.
Die Sonderausstellung von Uta Kornmeier findet in Kooperation mit dem Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung Berlin statt. Als Teil der Serie von "Interventionen" in die Dauerausstellung des Museums ist sie bis 05. Juni 2011 zu sehen.

For the project, more than 750 artists from all over the world work together in one same action: all will carry one fragile object step by step around the planet.
The journey of the object and the works the artists will conceive during the project will be communicated on the website and in regular newsletters.
