opening or event start 18.10.2011 18:30
Begins 19.10.2011
Ends 20.11.2011

Benedetta Panisson selected a man during one of her live performances.
She asked him to be herself in her next project. He accepted.
The name of the selected man is Guido Mangialavori. Or Benedetta Panisson?
The project is the result of 5 years of observation and study of the selected man. A calm embodiment, a sexual reassignment, an act of taking the self out of the way, taking everything out, putting everything else inside.
All data are archived, all the rest exploded.
The project "Rotation F to M" began in 2005 during a live performance ("rotation white") at the International Prize for Performance, curated by Marina Abramovic, Fabio Cavallucci and Galleria Civica di arte contemporanea di Trento.
Parts of the project were exhibited at Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, Venice, Museo della Permanente, Milano, and Galleria Riccardo Crespi, Milano, it will be presented in its completed version at Kolima, curated by Federica Tattoli and Mauro Mattei, Milano.

„TEILEN STATT KRIEGEN“
AntikriegsAusstellung - Art Against War

"In July and August 2001 Möllmann realized her project VISIONS NYC in the boroughs of New York. The original project dealt with the myth of New York as the city of dreams. Möllmann spoke to various New Yorkers about why they came to the metropolis and about the dreams they hoped to realize there: former editor of fashion magazine »Glamour« Estelle Ellis explained why New York is the city where it is possible to realize ones dreams; Matthew Gordon from Baltimore spoke of his career in New York as a filmmaker; and performance artist Michelle Carlo reflected on her dream to realize her own TV show. At this point, Möllmann could not, of course, foresee the attack on the Twin Towers..."

Bärbel Möllmann (born on 4 July, 1970 in Bocholt, Germany) is an artist and photographer. She has lived in Berlin since 2002 and is represented by the Samuelis Baumgarte Gallery in Bielefeld.

The theoretical framework of the Re- Locate project is based on the
population exchange between Anatolia and the Balkans and it focuses on the
flexibility of the borders, cultural similarities, controversies, the lack
of communication between cultures, as well as various methods of developing
new communication models. In addition, the project aims at establishing a
new network between artists, curators, writers and institutions by making
the shared history in the selected places its most important guide.

Claudio Gobbi (*1971)

On the opening weekend of the 4th Fotofestival, the Portfolio Review provided the opportunity for an effective exchange between photographers and selected photography experts.
In three twenty-minute one-on-one conversations, upper-division students, art school graduates, as well as freelance artists and photographers entered into a fascinating dialogue with curators, publishers, gallery owners, and art critics, received feedback and encouragement.
After the portfolios had been reviewed, the reviewers determined their favorites. Within the scope of the 4th Fotofestival, the first three favorites will now be presented in their own exhibition at the Print Media Academy in Heidelberg.

Ends 02.09.2015

You're invited to follow the amazing global art initiative 'FRAGILE - global performance chain journey' in which more than 750 artists from 62 countries are participating.
Can one fragile object, in times of email, chat and mobility, pass one time all around the world safely – from hand to hand, charging itself with stories and people? Will it be the same when it returns?

For the project, more than 750 artists from all over the world work together in one same action: all will carry one fragile object step by step around the planet.
The journey of the object and the works the artists will conceive during the project will be communicated on the website and in regular newsletters.
