Project for the discovery of the lost kingdom of Utopia / Doris Sprengel
Galerie Axel Obiger
Brunnenstraße 29
D-10119 Berlin
http://www.axelobiger.com
http://www.dorissprengel.de/Start.htm
Berlin
Ends 08.09.2010
"Evidence is enthusiastically listed, drafted and illustrated. Pictures, symbols, ruins, notes, findings and the hope of forming an overall picture from the details when home. With dedication an innocent biased look is taken of the wonder of the world, a deliberate dignified concern as it counts to deciphering the message of the Godfathers and finding a kingdom which will prove itself worthy. Utopia or Atlantis or home. Words which sound like longing, like promise, far from discourse and social criticism. It must exist, this place of happiness and perfection, there where the world formula of wonder and movement, transformation and eternity merge."
An Installation in the shop-window of the Gallery, open 24/7.
The Gallery will be closed during the exhibition period.

"UNIVERSITAS - Light-Orbiter
diameter 2,20 m (7,35 ft), 40 solar cells, created 2007, realized 2009
A blue ring turns slowly in space. With changing beam of light flares its iridescent surface from silicon crystals. The light-weight construction embodies pure function and associates airship structures and outer space habitats. Noiseless weightlessness dominate the scope. The light orbiter decelerate the speed of light into a contemplative orbit and transfers it as positive load to the viewer."
