"One goes to school, goes back home, travels, improvises. Sooner or later, goes to the doctor. One praises or condemns the world or aspects of it and has an intimate view on life. And that is all just fine. Hierarchies are temporal and various and, at the end, things tend to be mingled together. In my drawings, I also bring together in combination without loss of individual characteristics. I portray without particular subjects and make without sense. And then, I simply enjoy the gymnastics of deconstructive reading. So, I have found and work on my way to mingle."
Mariana Morais

Mariana Morais, born in Portugal in 1980, lived and studied painting in Porto and is now living and working in Berlin. Her works are made on various surfaces, such as cardboard and canvas. Characters and words are put together in the same way as colours and shapes to create illogical universes. This exhibition shows drawings and paintings made during her residency in culturia Berlin.

Secil Yaylalis artproject "Let'S!" took place in Istanbul (Sulukule), Alexandria (El-Max), Berlin (Kreuzberg) and Barcelona (Raval) and involved youth out of areas highly populated with migrants. Its focusses problems and disadvantages which are resulting out of living in those areas.

The project is researching and reflecting this issue and linked ideas and wishes of a future living, together with the youth population via a selfmade claymation film project (animation and clay figures). The resulting films have been discussed in different locations with the youth settled onsite. Parallels and differences have been sounded out and possible ways of tolerance and otherness have been opened.

Seit seiner Eröffnung 2002 konnte sich das Autocenter als einer der
wichtigsten Ausstellungsorte Berlins für zeitgenössische Kunst
etablieren. Als vollständig privat finanzierter Ausstellungsraum kann

"Seit den 1990ger Jahren entwickelt Veit Stratmann seine Arbeiten, die immer wieder um die Identität von Räumen kreisen und um diejenigen, die sich in ihnen aufhalten. Die Gesten von Veit Stratmann sind vornehmlich direkt auf einen bestimmten Ort bezogen. Ihre Funktionalität ist meist zweideutig und in ihrer Form bewegen sie sich eher auf rätselhaftem als auf ästhetischem Terrain. Oft sind es minimale Interventionen, mit denen Stratmann den Status von Räumen in Frage stellt. Dabei wird die künstlerische Geste immer wieder auf ihre Möglichkeiten hin untersucht, die räumliche Kohärenz eines Ortes auf zu lösen und eine Leerstelle zu erzeugen..."

REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT (RG) zeigt im Rahmen der Ausstellung "Hauptsache Arbeit" am Haus der Geschichte Bonn eine interaktive Medieninstallation. Sie besteht aus acht Hometrainern, bei deren Betätigung der Betrachter kurze Videoclips aus der Arbeitswelt ansteuern kann.

The exhibition series “connect:” at the ifa galleries in Berlin and Stuttgart presents national, regional or local art scenes which are currently not in the focus of international attention but where nonetheless exciting developments are taking place.

From now on new work of Roland Fuhrmann can be visited, which is permanently installed in the entrance hall of the main building of the Brandenburgian Technical University of Cottbus (art-and-construction). It is open week-daily and around the clock (night doormen).

"UNIVERSITAS - Light-Orbiter
diameter 2,20 m (7,35 ft), 40 solar cells, created 2007, realized 2009
A blue ring turns slowly in space. With changing beam of light flares its iridescent surface from silicon crystals. The light-weight construction embodies pure function and associates airship structures and outer space habitats. Noiseless weightlessness dominate the scope. The light orbiter decelerate the speed of light into a contemplative orbit and transfers it as positive load to the viewer."
