“The grotesque allows us to collaborate loosely through a theory of dispersal and overflowing, of recognizing fugitive concepts and identities that shift before they can be contained. As a parameter for collaboration, it is flexible, allowing for changes in ideas, form and attitude. We find common ground even as it shifts beneath our feet. We examine on a corporeal scale the dynamics that are at the basis of world affairs: sexual and interpersonal relationships, possessions, shame and exhibitionism, play and hierarchy, the body in space. We position ourselves to look at how the outside world penetrates into us and how our insides seep back into the world. We don't point fingers- we stick 'em up our asses.”

"One goes to school, goes back home, travels, improvises. Sooner or later, goes to the doctor. One praises or condemns the world or aspects of it and has an intimate view on life. And that is all just fine. Hierarchies are temporal and various and, at the end, things tend to be mingled together. In my drawings, I also bring together in combination without loss of individual characteristics. I portray without particular subjects and make without sense. And then, I simply enjoy the gymnastics of deconstructive reading. So, I have found and work on my way to mingle."

Die Gesten von Veit Stratmann sind vornehmlich direkt auf einen bestimmten Ort bezogen. Ihre Funktionalität ist meist zweideutig und in ihrer Form bewegen sie sich eher auf rätselhaftem als auf ästhetischem Terrain. Oft sind es minimale Interventionen, mit denen Stratmann den Status von Räumen in Frage stellt. The exhibition series “connect:” at the ifa galleries in Berlin and Stuttgart presents national, regional or local art scenes which are currently not in the focus of international attention but where nonetheless exciting developments are taking place.

The selection focuses on artists from the cities Hanoi in the north and Ho Chi Minh City in the south of Vietnam.

From now on new work of Roland Fuhrmann can be visited, which is permanently installed in the entrance hall of the main building of the Brandenburgian Technical University of Cottbus (art-and-construction). It is open week-daily and around the clock (night doormen).
"UNIVERSITAS - Light-Orbiter
diameter 2,20 m (7,35 ft), 40 solar cells, created 2007, realized 2009
A blue ring turns slowly in space. With changing beam of light flares its iridescent surface from silicon crystals. The light-weight construction embodies pure function and associates airship structures and outer space habitats. Noiseless weightlessness dominate the scope. The light orbiter decelerate the speed of light into a contemplative orbit and transfers it as positive load to the viewer."
