Das Festivalteam hat das Thema des beliebten Flotten-Dreier-Wettbewerbs festgelegt und lädt ein, filmische Beiträge aus dem Kosmos Küche in höchstens drei Minuten auf Film zu bannen und bei uns einzureichen.
Wir freuen uns auf Kochshows der anderen Art, Küchenkrimis oder -komödien, Köche, Killer oder Kellner, Kulinarisches, Klopse oder Krasses. Ob Futtern wie bei Muttern, Haute Cuisine oder Rezepte nachkochen, ob molekulare, regionale, nationale oder internationale Küche: Probiert wird alles, aber aus der Küche muss es kommen.

CuratorLab - International Curatorial Program at Konstfack University

CuratorLab is an international self-directed curatorial course dedicated to the advancement of curatorial practices based on research in the arts, crafts and design. It is designed to offer time to conduct research and to explore new directions and ideas in order to develop artistic or theoretical work while linking academic study to cultural projects.

The program offers the participants the possibility to develop and realize one individual or collaborative project in the form of a public presentation, i.e. exhibition, lecture series, publication, screenings, seminar, for which CuratorLab provides professional feedback and practical support as well as a moderate research/production budget.

Requirement for Application
MA degree in fine art, art history, critical studies, architecture, crafts and design and / or equivalent working experience in independent curatorial practices or within institutions.

Tuition at Konstfack is free of charge. The university college has no scholarships to offer students.

16 Days Of Non Organised Art- call for submissions

aceartinc. is up for anything for 16 days in July. This is open to artists and non-artists of all levels. We want you to experiment / do same-old, same-old / reinvent the space / go nuts / be subtle / do something interesting. So long as you clean up, don’t damage the space or make it smell awful.

If there are more submissions than slots, we’ll put everyone’s name into our office teapot and ask a special guest to draw lots until all the spaces are filled.

Here’s the deal. Your event / exhibition / activity / whatnot can occur in the daytime OR evening.

This event is inspired by the terrific fun we had at aceartinc. with the übersuper events that took place on Alexandre David’s installation Over Here’ last July and by Eryn Foster’s ‘35 Days Of Non Organised Art’ that she programmed at Eyelevel Gallery in May last year. The free, off the cuff happenings these two things engendered spurred us onto providing circumstances for more of this good stuff to occur.

Fellowship opportunity for journalists

The Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) in Vienna has recently published a new call for application for the Milena Jesenská Fellowships for Journalists 2010/2011; deadline April 9, 2010.

This Fellowship program offers European journalists working in print, broadcast and electronic media time off from their professional duties in order to pursue in-depth research on a European topic of their choice. The call for applications is directed towards cultural journalists, with the term `cultural´ interpreted in a broad sense to encompass a wide variety of artistic and intellectual fields.

Milena Jesenská Fellows are invited to spend three months at the IWM in Vienna, Austria. Fellows will receive a stipend of EUR 7.630 and are provided with an office, access to e-mail and Internet, in-house research facilities and other relevant resources in Vienna. Travel grants of up to EUR 1.820 will be available for research visits to neighboring countries.

Candidates for the Milena Jesenská Fellowships must have several years of experience in professional journalism. Their work may deal with any topic related to cultural issues of European relevance, especially having to do with the issue of European integration.

Fellowships are not intended for entry-level journalists or students.

Noorderlicht invites photographers and curators to submit proposals for the 2010 Photofestival. This year Noorderlicht is focusing on changes in the contemporary countryside.

Today only a minority of the world's population still lives in rural areas. The demands of the modern global economy have created a major divide between rural areas and city life in terms of standards of living. While conditions tend to deteriorate at the countryside, life in urban areas seems to increase rapidly. This change has been a gradual process in the Western world, and an explosive one in the non-Western world. The divide will only get bigger in the years to come.

How is rural life changing due to the growing pressure of the current urbanised and global economy? Noorderlicht calls on photographers and curators around the world who are working on this topic to submit their photo stories.



In a follow-up to this theme, in 2012 Noorderlicht will shift its attention away from rural life to city life to further investigate the effects of global urbanization. Early submissions on this topic are also welcome.

Harpo Foundation: Funding Cycle 2010

Harpo Foundation was established in 2006 to support artists who are under recognized by the field. This applies to all artists whether emerging or further along in their careers.

Proposals may only be submitted by non-profit institutions. Only one proposal will be accepted per institution. Artists who apply on behalf of themselves are not eligible. Institutions in countries outside of the United States are eligible to apply but if awarded must be prepared to supply the foundation with a legal affidavit written in English qualifying its activities and structure.

Proposals to the foundation may take the form of installations, public interventions, residencies and exhibitions where the artist is commissioned to create new work. The Foundation will not support multiple artists in a group exhibition or calendar of programs, preferring instead to support a significant opportunity for an individual artist or collaborative team at an important moment in their development.

The relationship between art and site in an era defined by digital technologies is the focus for Harpo Foundation's 2010 funding cycle.

We will be exploring simple functions and hardware of mobile phones
such as: SMS, blue-tooth, video, in-built photo camera, speakers,
vibrator, sensors to generate participatory art project in public space
by playing with different ways of connecting the inside of our
studio-space with the outside-neighborhood. For those interested we will
also look into a programming environment to code little applications for
mobile phones called Mobile Processing to control in-built sensors or
create graphical user interfaces. Participants with newer phones are
also welcome to use their GPS or video chat function or play with
Linux-based mobile operating systems.

Manifest’s patrons eagerly await the Magnitude SEVEN event each year. MONA HATOUM ART WORKSHOP

The Workshop will focus on a mixed media approach towards making
artworks and engage in discussions on the issues of communicability of
artistic ideas and experience. The call is open to anyone interested
in experimenting with multimedia works of art (installations,
photography, video, works with found and recovered objects,
representations and other presentations of innovative ideas) who are
willing to have a critical debate on their ideas with a group.
Knowledge of Mona Hatoum's work and a wish to learn from her creative
process are important.

Whoever wishes to participate in the workshop must send a photocopy

their recent work and a text in English stating the reasons for

The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is seeking applications from international artists for 4–6 week individual production residencies to take place between fall 2010 and summer 2011. LIFT is a member-driven non-profit organization that provides affordable access to equipment, education and community for those who want to make film based works, out of a passion for, and commitment to, the practice of filmmaking. We support a wide range of production formats and digital editing, optical printers; contact printers; animation stands; a darkroom and more. Toronto also offers a wide range of lab facilities, a large pool of experienced technicians and talent, a vibrant film community and a dynamic arts environment.

The maximum cash funding for projects is $3,000 (CND) for travel, accommodation and per diems. Equipment and facilities will be provided by LIFT to a maximum of $3,000 (CDN), LIFT equipment rates can be found at http://www.lift.on.ca/mt/equiprates.html.

The artist is responsible for the costs of all film stock, chemicals, lab fees and other expendables. Proposals are submitted on the understanding that the project’s execution is contingent on funding yet to be secured.

Interactivos?'10 is a workshop which develops projects gathering and putting into action collaboration and local urban knowledge networks using free software and hardware technologies and "Do it yourself" (DIY) and "Do it with others" (DIWO) methods.

Arte Artists' Association's Residency SUMU offers one- to three-month residencies in 2011 to new media artists, working in the intersection of new technologies and contemporary art. This includes performance art and all types of new media: sound art, video art, installations, etc. Artists can apply to our residence once a year with an individual submission, which should include CV, samples of recent work and a project plan.

The residence is located in Turku, in the South-western coast of Finland. Artists are provided with free accommodation and studio. The artists must fund all their living expenses including food and transportation. Arte can help the artists with material costs up to 200 euros depending on the application.

Artists under the age of 35, who are working in "traditional" visual disciplines (painting, fine print, drawing, sculpture).
• Paid by artist: the costs of travel
• Paid by host: Meals, accommodation, work space and materials are provided along with technical support and facilities at no cost to the artist

With the aim of promoting sociability, aiding creativeness, acceptability for otherness, and its motto of "co-operation" the platform of the residency was build upon a critical reflection about the character of relations, connecting, and all sorts of collaborations within our modern society. Our idea is TO GATHER THE SELECTED ARTIST INTO TANDEMS to work on a prescribed theme.

We invite proposals of papers, posters and workshops for Soft Borders – the 4th Upgrade! International Conference & Festival on New Media Art, that will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from October 18-21, 2010.

A brief summary is required for the selection process. This should be submitted electronically via the online submission system, by April 30, 2010. You will be asked to create an account within the system before uploading your summary.

"The objective of PREVIEW BERLIN is to allow sophisticated and challenging contemporary art to be shown at a very early stage on the international art market. PREVIEW BERLIN showcases emerging galleries and project spaces that reflect the newest tendencies in contemporary art. Following this aim, PREVIEW BERLIN also works as a platform for discussing different formats in the presentation of contemporary art. For the 2009 edition, the classic trade fair set-up of cubicles was dispensed with in favor of presenting sculptures and installations in the open space. This creative concept was developed as a reaction to the current situation of the art market, promoting a discussion about new paths in art communication and appreciation."
