All arts Initiative Call for Entries
•Application Deadline
01.06.2010
The Métamatic Research Initiative is launching a call for entries to commission six individual art works in line with its mission. The initiative welcomes proposals from visual artists working in all disciplines.
The Métamatic Research Initiative's mission is to stimulate research into ideas stemming from the work and philosophy of the French-Swiss artist Jean Tinguely (1925-1991). Specifically, the research initiative focuses on Tinguely's exploration of the relationship between the artist, the art work and the viewer as expressed in his Métamatic sculptures. The call for entries is part of a broader effort of the initiative, in which funding will be given to both academic and artistic research activities, ranging from educational projects for young people to the commissioning of individual art works.

Marxism 2010 Call for submissions

This year’s speakers include, among others: Tony Benn, Haifa Zangana and Slavoj Žižek.

MORE OFTEN THAN ALWAYS, LESS OFTEN THAN NEVER
•Application Deadline

Noxious Sector Arts Collective invites submissions for MORE OFTEN THAN
ALWAYS, LESS OFTEN THAN NEVER, a curated group exhibition scheduled to be
presented at the Richmond Art Gallery (Richmond, BC, Canada) from November
26, 2010 to January 23, 2011. The project is conceived as an exploration
of imaginary solutions to questions of improbability, inviting artists to
engage with notions of impossibility, uncertainty and the imaginary.
MORE OFTEN THAN ALWAYS, LESS OFTEN THAN NEVER invites artists from around
the world to engage with notions of impossibility, uncertainty and the
imaginary. Situated on the impossible side of probability, the project
invites renderings of improbability, of disregarded possibilities, phantom
conjectures, plausible insanities of one sort or another, all of which
challenge standardized formulations of what is allowed, acceptable,
logical or feasible.

paraflows .10 - Mind and Matter Festival for Digital Art and Cultures
•Application Deadline
15.06.2010
Going into its 5th year, the paraflows festival in Vienna will focus on the interconnection between the programme and the object. Information technology is based on the distinction between hardware and software, and more often than not both systems are treated and discussed as independent of each other. paraflows .10 – MIND AND MATTER seeks to put on display how hard- and software, content and object in contemporary art not only co-exist, but also condition and shape each other.
What role does hardware play for media infrastructure – how is the net set up, what are the real pillars on which virtuality rests? How does the sculptural process look like, from a technological point of view? What are the effects of technological prospects on physical representation?

In celebration of Manifest's fifth anniversary (January 2010) we are very proud to announce this next major step in Manifest Press's evolution in fulfilling the Manifest non-profit mission to stand for quality in the visual arts... The International PAINTING Annual.
The INPA will be a complementary project to the ongoing Drawing Annual (INDA). The goal of the INPA will be to support the recognition, documentation, and publication of excellent, current, and relevant works of painting from around the world. As a carefully designed high-end book, the INPA will enable Manifest to assemble a diverse array of works of painting by international artists, without the limitation of physical availability, gallery space, or shipping logistics. With this Manifest leverages its considerable experience in publication design specifically for works of art, with a high level of sensitivity to the artist's point of view.
