This is an open call for artists all over the world to begin a 'relay travelogue'.

Participants who use this special panorama drawing instrument continue to draw a moving landscape. Artists are called upon to contribute their interpretation of the world that surrounds them. When the artist completes his/her drawing, the instrument and the panorama must be passed to a next participant who is geographically nearby and whose work is somehow artistically related to that of the previous participant. This next person will continue the former drawing, blending the new landscape into one continuous panorama.

Five special panorama drawing instruments will be given to five artists. The artists will be selected based on their:
-Unique artistic perspective on this project
-Interesting geographic or cultural position
-Personal motivation

THE ROYAL STANDARD - ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAMME

Two artists will be selected to work in our gallery space for a period of 21
days each followed by a week-long exhibition opportunity. However, the
presentation of the work produced during the residency is not restricted to
a conventional exhibition format and could take the form of an event,
discussion, screening, performance, etc. Resident artists will have sole use
of The Royal Standard's gallery space and access to all our facilities and
equipment, and will be supported by a £500 artist fee, up to £750
materials, free accommodation with practising artists in Liverpool, travel
expenses and marketing of related events / exhibitions by The Royal
Standard.

International Residential Scholarships at the Künstlerhaus Schloß Balmoral

Balmoral awards six 6-month residential scholarships to international fine artists.
Additionally, Balmoral awards one 6-month project grant to allow a selected national visual artist to realise a project elsewhere.
In order to promote the dialogue between research and art, one 6-month curator scholarship will be awarded to a junior scholar of the humanities (preferably in the field of Art Theory).

6 Qwartz Electronic Music Awards

Qwartz represents a promotional and supportive project to independent
musical creation by revealing new creations to the public and offering
financial contributions to artists.

The Qwartz Awards are open to all electronic music artists and labels, but
only commercial copies of releases registered between January 1st, 2008 and
July 15th, 2009 may be handed in to participate in the competition. Every
release is digitalized and then evaluated by the Qwartz jury blindfolded.
Releases short-listet by the jury will be published online. Winners will be
designated through public vote.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Closing Ceremony
to take place on 2 April 2010 in Paris.

Die Aktion Mensch und die Kölner Kunstmesse ART.FAIR 21 rufen auch in
diesem Jahr junge Künstler auf, Antworten zu finden auf die Frage "In
was für einer Gesellschaft wollen wir leben?". Noch bis zum 31. Juli
2009 können Kunstschaffende im Alter von 18 bis 45 Jahren ihre
visionären Ideen in Form von Malerei und Fotografie beim
Gesellschafter ART.AWARD 09 einreichen. Zugelassen sind Einzel- und
Gruppenarbeiten.

PREISE
1. Preis: Künstler-Katalog (Foto, Gestaltung, Produktion) im Wert von
10.000 €
2. Preis. Website (Foto, Text, Layout, Umsetzung, Server und Domain
für ein Jahr)im Wert von 4.000 €
3. Preis: Gutschein für Künstlerbedarf im Wert von 1.500 €

-Films should be finished after January 1st, 2008
-Maximum length: 40 minutes
-Producer and/or director should be European

Deadline for entry: July 31st, 2009.
The selection will be published on October 15th,
the award ceremony takes place on December 5th.

Jury Award for Best Short Film (2.500 euro)
